On overcast days, the MPPT controller reduces motor speed proportionally to available solar power — the pump runs slower and delivers less water. On very low-radiation days (heavy rain/cloud), the pump may not run at all. Most irrigation schedules are designed around 6–8 hours of peak generation per day. An optional battery backup allows limited operation on cloudy days.
